Effects of Bullying in School

Most students at school get bullied at least once. There are students who know how to deal with bullies, there are students who avoid bullies and there are students who are affected hardly from bullies and still don't know what to do. In this post I will talk about the effect of bullying in school and how to deal with bullies if you are a victim of such treatment.
Bullying have many major effects on victims and I will mention them so that you can know them and deal with them correctly in order to be stronger dealing with your school life.
The effects of bullying for girls and boys are as following:
  • Physical bullying (boys): Physical bullying for boys can be by pushing, kicking, obstructing, punching or hurting the bullied student physically. A victim should not react in the same way because you will lose your rights when you do so. This is also considered as a weak reaction because you didn't control your rage, anger or resentment that you have felt towards the bully. Controlling your anger is known by psychologists stronger than reacting over it because it is easier to react over it but the harder action is to control it successfully.

  • Verbal bullying (Done by bullies for both Boys and Girls): verbal bullying can be hurtful emotionally for the bullied student but it doesn't mean to listen to the bully if you are not hurt emotionally because it is better to avoid it than to listen to it. In other words if you know that you will be bullied verbally by walking on the corridor, it is better to take another way so that you don't listen to the bully.

  • Emotional bullying (Girls): this bullying is more among girls than boys because of their biological nature. This bullying can be done by isolating the bullied girl emotionally by not talking to her, by spreading rumors about her or by pushing some messages to her. A girl can keep the entire day indulged in the situation that happened to her which will make her distracted to do anything else, this can make her isolated in her thoughts and can affect her relationships in school, her concentration in class and dealing with her siblings and parents at home.

  • Cyber bullying (Boys and Girls): cyber bullying is bullying related to the internet, it can be through chatting or social media. In some cases it can be hard for the bullied to know who bullied him and thus it can be hard to take the right actions.
All these types of bullies have common solutions which are:
  • Not to be alone most of the time: you have to find friends in every situation of your day. Either you are waiting for the bus, having lunch, having your break, having the class or going to the locker, this will make you stronger and less likely to be bullied and the next point can help you make more friends.

  • Volunteer: you can volunteer in raising awareness to stop bullying, but you can also volunteer on anything else in a way to learn how to give without waiting for anything in return. This will help you build friendships that is based on unconditional love which will help you be stronger to face bullies.
Taking actions by volunteering in a community is one way to start helping yourself. You can also join a strong community of students to share you experience with them.
